Delmarva Serv Safe and Triangle North Carolina Serv Safe provide Food Safety Manager’s Certification classes from the National Restaurant Association. Our classes cover the basic concepts of how food becomes hazardous, the consequences of unsafe food and what can be done to avoid contamination of food served.
​
Successful participants in our training sessions will take a certification exam which will provide them with the Serv Safe Food Protection Manager Certification valid for 5 years.
​
We now also offer the Non Certification Food Handler's Course for Non Managers. This is a 4 hour course.
​
North Carolina, Delaware, Virginia and several counties in Maryland require Food Safety Manager Certification for at least one on-site staff member in all commercial kitchen operations including but not limited to restaurants, health care and educational facilities.​​​​​​​​​

Delmarva Serv Safe Food Protection Manager Class Description
​
Our comprehensive training approach is designed to be a memorable, meaningful discussion among food professionals -- not a passive classroom experience. We present easy-to-understand concepts using real-world examples via multi-media tools and activities which encourage group participation. This variety of in-class materials maximizes knowledge retention and better prepares our students for their certification exam. Even career restaurant personnel getting re-certified learn new ways to improve their food safety procedures. The Serv Safe Food Protection Manager Certification is valid for 5 years.

Frank brings more than 25 years of real-world experience in hospitality, training and safety to both Triangle North Carolina and Delmarva Serv Safe. He specializes in guiding restaurant groups, education and health care institutions, and food-service professionals through training programs that help reduce and eliminate unsafe food and food contamination concerns. He provides every class session with industry standards and protocols that meet all National and Local food service regulations. His friendly and thorough approach to the material takes all the worry out of the process for his participants leading up to their certification exam.

Frank takes great pride in sharing his passion for food safety. He works diligently to ensure his participants grasp the depth of the material and can easily apply what they have learned. The results support his efforts with a very high exam pass rate among the last 500 students completing his Serv Safe Food Protection Manager’s Certification course.
​
He encourages all his participants that food safety doesn’t stop once they’ve completed their training and certification. “It is your responsibility to take what you’ve learned and share that knowledge with your staff and fellow workers,” Frank reiterates at the end of each session.
​
Frank applies all of his varied life experiences into his interactions with his students in these classes including his military training as an Army Officer, his degree in Economics earned from Lafayette College, and his customer-service and business management skills honed while operating his own full service restaurants and retail operations.

With over 25 years of experience in the food, health and hospitality industry, Hemali brings a deep understanding of food safety regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements. She has successfully trained and mentored countless individuals, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a safe and hygienic environment in their establishments.

With her background as a Registered Dietitian overseeing safety and sanitation in healthcare and working in the family-owned casual fast-food restaurants, she brings a wealth of unique experiences to her instructional role.

Hemali earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and subsequently became a Registered Dietitian through UMES's Dietetic Internship program. Over 16 years, she has served as a preceptor for the UMES Dietetic Internship program, showcasing her dedication to mentoring and advancing the profession. As a preceptor, Hemali is known for their engaging teaching style, clarity in conveying complex concepts, and commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety. She tailors her instructional approach to cater to diverse learning needs.
As a Certified ServSafe Instructor and Registered ServSafe Examination Proctor, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring that food service professionals grasp essential principles, receive comprehensive training and are well prepared to achieve certification in accordance with industry standards.
